What They're Up To:



Gail Redinger -- Winning 5 classes at he Region 6 Championships. Her 10 year old Trakehner, Mitras, is Regional Champion at Intermediaire II and Grand Prix. Gail's other horse Whim is Regional Champion at 4th Level. Here's what the Chronicle of the Horse had to say (CLICK THIS). Mitras is also the American Trakehner Association's National Reserve Champion Horse of the Year in Intermediaire II and Grand Prix. And add this in: Mitras has received the Trakehner Verband award for the most successful purebred Trakehner in dressage in 2011.  
Laura Bowman
at the Region 3
Championships riding her first PSGs: Saturday a 61.3% good for 2nd among the AAs and 4th overall. On Sunday winning the PSG with a 66.8% from Janet Foy. Those scores complete Laura's SILVER MEDAL. Laura is now also a USDF "L" Judges Program graduate.
At Canterbury in January--two scores of 69+% in the PSG.
Cami Topham with Eli, in 2nd Level at the USDF Regionals, 8th place in the AA Second Level Championships. At Canterbury in January, 2 scores nicely in the 60s at their first recognized show at 3rd level.
Shawn Kuester-- On Jan and Pat's mare, Angelina, 6th in the First Level Open Championships at the 2011 Region 3 Finals.
Lindsey Holleger, for whom I take little credit, winner of both the First and Second Level JR/YR Championships at the Regionals plus overall high score ride for all Trakehners. In addition, Lindsey is tracking first in the nation in the USDF records for Second Level Junior/YR high score horse of the year! In December they debuted at Fourth Level 1.
Sally Struss, with two horses at the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals: 3 National Reserve Champions, 2 top tens!
Gloriana Herrera with Rhapsody, representing Costa Rica at the Pan Am Games in Mexico, coached there by Imke Bartels of the Netherlands and back in Wellington for January to March training with Canadian team member, Ashley Holzer. At the Gold Coast Opener CDI in January:

Courtney Varney-- on Tess at the Silver Sands January Arabian show, 60 in PSG, 63 in the I-1.
Karen Abbattista-- In September, Karen passed her USDF "L" Judges Program with distinction. Her Friesian mare Divinity for 2011 is USDF All Breeds National Champion at Training Level. At the January Alpha Dressage show a 64.7% with Kartoon in their first PSG. Also Divinity a 66.1 in First Level Test 1.
Elizabeth Waller
on Tag (who now sports the name "Hound Dog Harry," a Training 3 score of 64.4% and her first time out at First Level with a 64.1--both at the Horse Park in Ocala.
Jody Harwood --
with Dhitto: December 10 at the Lakeland Dressage Assn show at Black Dog, in Second Level, 65 and 65.7%. With Cindy: 67.2 in training Test 3 and 70.7 in First Level Test 1--high point for the show!
Susan Mori and Jaranero, the first time in the show ring for either of them: Alpha Dressage in December, a 65.7% in Training 2 and a 61.6% in T-3. A reprise in January with more 60s.
Nataly Pacheco on Monte Cristo, in Training Level at the LDA December show, 61.4 and 64.4%. At Rocking Horse Winter I, a4th place finish in their first BN and a score of -30.4 in the dressage phase.
Githa Saarberg on her Friesian stallion, Casper , second place in the FEI Challenge Advanced Test in Costa Rica (approximately 4th Level) with 64.8%.
Kathy Channell, a wintertime Bradenton student, back from Illinois with Ollie: scores in the 60s at their frist time in First Level at Alpha Schooling.
Nancy Burchett, whose Heiden was Open Reserve Year End Champion at First Level in the Utah Dressage Society.
Dawn Hall with her Paint stallion Shenandoah at the Rocking Horse Fall HT, 2nd after dressage in Novice with a -33.5, finishing fifth overall.
Beth Davidson on her New Forest Pony mare, Farrrah, 4th out of 12 in their first Training Level Horse Trials at Ocala in November.
Jill Barrera, on the amazing Tyler,  at age 27, their first Grand Prix adventure at a recognized show (Suncoast). 55% with a 7 for his one tempis. Tyler injured himself in the pasture 7/31. Still rehabbing after a September relapse but making astounding progress!
Ash Barnes back in the show ring on Furst at Rocking Horse Schooling: 66 in Fourth 3, 68.7% in PSG.
Annette Coester on Sam, her last score for her Bronze Medal at Millbrook (UT) in August!
Ellen Walker debuting Arthur in Training Level at Millbrook with 2 scores in the 60s.
Kim Schmittendorf
and Jack, tearing up the Canterbury pea patch with a 66.25% in Intro. At Canterbury in September, her maiden trip into "all Training Level," with room to grow on 58+ and 59.5.

 

Special congratulations to Bruce, the French Bulldog, a repeat winner of the Four Winds Farm Dog Drinking Race of 2011, Open Division. Hoping to three-peat in 2012.
