A native of New England and a graduate of Brown University, Susan
foxhunted, did competitive trail riding and competed in combined
training before specializing in dressage. She participated in USDF
Instructors' Seminars beginning in 1982 and in 1987 was chosen by
the USDF to teach Regional Instructors' Workshops. An AHSA "R" judge,
she has also judged driving dressage and numerous horse trials.
She has been fortunate to participate in FEI judges forums in 1987
and 1993, and attended the AHSA-sponsored forum held in conjunction
with the 1996 Olympic Games. She has shown at all levels from Training
through Intermediaire, trained horses through Grand Prix, created
and ridden several Musical Freestyles, and ridden several Pas de
Deux in exhibitions. She holds the UDSF's Bronze and Silver Medals.
Her interest in horses, dogs and all creatures has led her to other
paths besides dressage. Since 1997, she has been a practitioner
of reiki, and is now a Reiki Master. She is also an animal communicator
and shamanic practitioner, as well as a student at St. Petersburg
College in the Veterinary Technology's Distance Learning program.
She is the founder and president of Four Winds Healing Center, Inc.
